Fundraising Tips

1.Set a starting date and closing date for your fundraiser. Two weeks is an ideal time frame. Anything more than 2 weeks can be counter-productive.

2.Clearly define the reason and goals for your fundraiser.

3.Assign volunteers to help run and administer the fundraiser - especially on the day the products arrive.

4.Have each participant make a list of family and friends who may be interested in supporting your fundraising efforts.

5.Promotion and word of mouth is key. Spread the word throughout the community.

6.Keep copies of all order forms for your records or for potential tax implications.

7.Triple-check all monies and orders before calling in or sending your order to Heavenly Tea. Trust us, this will save you a big headache if your orders are correct.

8.Rely on your Heavenly Tea representative for suggestions and advice.

9.Keep copies of all forms turned in by volunteers before sending them to the fundraising company.

10.Keep your participants enthusiastic & have fun!



Fundraiser Safety Tips
Child safety in fundraising is our main priority. That's why we discourage any student from selling door-to-door or selling to strangers!

Fundraising safety Do's and Don'ts:

1.Be Safe & Be Smart -- Use your common sense.

2.Make a list of friends, family, relatives, and neighbors to contact to avoid door-to-door sales.

3.Parents must be involved with each fundraising activity.

4.Follow all the instructions provided.

5.Make sure Mom and Dad have approved who you intend to ask to support your group.

6.Ask your parents to take a catalog to work.

7.Use the telephone to call family and friends to ask them to help your group by making a purchase.
8.Never allow children to carry collected money unless accompanied by a responsible adult.

9.Use the buddy system - don't sell alone.

10.Do not carry large amounts of cash.

11.Never talk to strangers.

12.Never go out after dark.



Fundraising 101
Successful steps for a profitable fundraiser

- Select a fundraising program.

- Planning session - Set financial goals, fundraising time frame (we recommend 2 weeks for a fundraiser) and make sure you stick to the set time!

- Alert community about fundraiser.

- Promote fundraiser through parent letters, posters and community announcements.

- Hold a "kick-off" rally, which educates the kids on the fundraising programs, and build enthusiasm to reach fundraising goals.

- Start the fundraiser!

- Monitor progress and provide encouragement and incentives to keep the kids motivated.

- Once the fundraiser is complete, collect the order forms and money.

- Tally the results.

- Send tally form and payment to fundraising company.

- Schedule delivery date with fundraising company.

- Set time and place for student and parents to meet to pick up delivered products. Have parents and teachers to volunteer to help distribute product in an orderly fashion.

- Check for damaged products and any mis-orders and make the necessary arrangements with the fundraising company for replacements.

- Have the students deliver their products that they sold. A personal thank you letter by the students can't hurt.

- Enjoy the fruits of your labor and start thinking of ways on improving your next fundraiser.
